Sweeties eldest baby is 5 weeks old today. I had to take the baby away yesterday as for the last 3 days, wherever it wanted to perch, or climb around the wires, Mum would fly out of the nesting box and actually push him until he fell on the floor. She left him alone while he was on the floor, but as soon as he got on a ledge, perch or swing, she would swoop and squawk at him till he fell.

Well at first i put him with the babies that are 8 weeks old, biut this morning he was vwery quite so I put hoim n a cage by himself, and he does not appear to be ating anything. I;ve put in seed, millet, green and egg powder. He was eating seed and greens in the breeding box, but I dont hink he is eating now.

Should I leave him by himself, or leave him with the older ones

most babies i have haven't come out till 6 or 7 weeks

 

maybe try and put him back in with the hen and just watch what happens

How's the baby doing? I wouldn't know what advice to give you.. but good luck!

Cindy if the male won't feed him I'd leave him with the 8 week old babies. They should show him how to eat, and may even regurgitate for him until he figures it out.

 

Oops, I just noticed this was started almost a week ago. What did you decide to do?
