:D If you weren't I think I would hav fainted :D

:D I hope it's not too easy, but then I always get told to dim it down.

Its good because you can mistaken the first one for something else but the last one is obvious :D

The middle two are interesting because you have to pick the change in the colour.

Now every one will be scratching their heads.......... :D

YAY :oliveb:

And I saw your trick on another thread :bluebudgie::

Come on peoples!! Have a guess!! :bluebudgie:

I have no idea, i would say yellow wing and yellow faced green, but I'm sure I'm wrong :bluebudgie:

  • Author

Lin is that for the same bird?

Yellow face green is wrong. When calling a bird yellow face it only stands for a blue bird. All Greens have yellowfaces normaly.

Here is a hint they are all along the same line of mutation.

No, it was yellow wing for the first picture, but it just doesn't sound right, and my brain won't work today. I just can't think. Last guess Pied? If it is then I would say recessive, so that means it's dominant :hap:

Yellow wing is a new mutation to me. :hap:

:D:D:D

It's a new one that is only visible to me Daz :P

I said it didn't sound right :hap:

It could be a yellow faced green budgie with yellow wings. :hap:

The first picture is of a green yellowwing, the two birds in picture 2 look greywings and the last one is of a dilute green.

Lovely pics. To easy !!!

ever since we have gotten budgie genetics lessons at this *forbidden name forum* im a champ at these games :D

well i like to think i am.....

Sorry to miss lead you Carmz But the first isn't a green yellowwing

:D hmmmm

what about the others??? :)

Carmz and Lin are correct :D

*glare* although if you think it's easy Carmz then your too good to be guessing at these lessons. (glad *you-know-who* is helping you)

Yellowwing -better known as Clearwing is the first.

Greywings- are next and

Dilute for the last :)

How to tel the differance? Well the dilute had a dimed colour all over the body, the clearwing and grey wings still have strong body colours. The clearwing has almost no wing markings while the greywing is still clearly marked and cleary gray rather than black.

What is this one:

Oh, that seems too easy, it's a white wing. But I don't know what colour you would call the body, it's not blue, or sky blue.

Just stopping by to learn because I haven't a clue :D

I am still trying to process it all :)

Great Job to those who got it right.

A real nice mate for Crystal??? :D

Is the colour dilute? Nerwen, I don't understand dilutes, can we learn about them too?

  • Author

:D Good one Rainbow

Daz he isn't a spangle :), but he is s sky blue.

Lin yes the blue one is a dilute. and we are learning about them. Grey wings, clearwings (yellowwings or whitewings) and dulites are all part of the dulite mutation. They are simply different levels, each level removing more and more colour from the bird.

Edited by Nerwen

Okay, so that picture was a white wing dilute sky blue? How can you tell it is skyblue? It doesn't look anything like one. Is that just experience? Can you show us some pictures of the other blues that are dilute for comparison?

And another question - are only white wings, clear wings and grey wings dilute?

And why have I confused myself?

okay it's is hard when the call the grouping dilute and the third level of the mutation dilute :D

The blue one is a dilute, not a white wing. How do I know he is a sky blue experience. Look at daz's picture that is a sky blue at full strength the little dilute blue is the same but the colour is dull.

So far there are only the three types (grey wing, clear wing and dilute) in budgies.

it's hard to find picture actually :D I was lucky to get the few I had.
