okay i have a budgie that is marching on the spot dosent seem to be sick still flys but when just sitting around is marching anyone know why he is doing it?

*hums the ants go marching* Well now you've got that irritating song stuck in my head! :hap: I can't quite imagine a budgie marching, i wonder why he does it...maybe sore feet?

it might be a mite problem

It doesn't sound good but it's also hard to picture. I think having it checked out by the avian vet is the only thing you can do. Maybe something is bothering its feet? Have you been able to get a close look?

no i havent but going to catch him tomorrow and have a look

 

i have no idea what mites look like will i be able to see them if he has them?

Some people reckon not, but if you have good eye sight you should be able to see a speck of dust that moves.

If he bites the feet too that is a sure sign of mites.

 

It might even be something in the perches, give em a scrub & sterilise them.

well i`ve had a look at him even got my magnifying glass out i couldnt see any dust looking things but i did notice he`s feet are a little dry(scaly)it`s not flacking off and today he`s not marching as much yeasterday he was lifting he`s feet right up today he isint while i had him i give him a looking over and under all looks fine i mite have to wash the branches they are on none of the others are doing it

that is indeed quite odd.. but it sounds cute.
