Hey,

Just checking that blues beak isnt too long, he does lots of nbbling on his wooden toys and cuttlefish so hopefully it is okay. heres the picture:

What do you guys think?

It looks normal to me, although I am no expert. Perhaps if it was longer than that I would be worried.

Very pretty bird though.

Looks fine to me. If you get more concerned, let the vet take a look, as clipping a budgies beak (any birds beak actually) inexpertly can cause extreme pain, shock, bleeding and even death. However, I think that beak looks pretty normal :P

Thanks guys, Just thought i'd give it a quick check because i know from experience how pointy (and therefore painful) it is!! I thought it had gotten a bit longer also, but i now think that i was wrong!

thanks!

Maybe its the angle of the photo that makes it look so long?

My immediate reaction was that it is a BIT long but now I'm not so sure as everyone seems to disagree?

It looks fine to me. I think it might look longer because it is peeling a little at the bottom.

I think it looks okay too. A vet would use trimming as a last resort but would first try and give him plenty of things to wear the beak on like wood toys and cuttlebone and such.

But I'm with everyone else on that it looks fine. :hap: Pixel's beak sometimes looks a bit overgrown but I think her beak is just shaped slightly differently than the other budgies'.
