Stray Budgie - South Australian Band Around Leg

Hi all,

My name is Lee Jefferies, I run Pet Search, an organisation that looks for and works to reunite lost pets with their owners. We have been established for 13 years in Sydney and are now expanding our searching and service to the rest of NSW. Through working closely with vets, pounds, the RSPCA and other animal welfare agencies, we are able to match descriptions of missing pets with descriptions of animals being held by all of the different facilities and by members of the public. We not only search for dogs and cats, but also for birds, ferrets, ducks, livestock and in the past we have also looked for a blue tongue lizard. Personally we are also foster carers for animals in pounds and often pick up stray animals from members of the public who do not have transportation to get them to their nearest vet.

Currently we have been contacted by a lady who has found a budgie with a leg ring. We have contacted the budgerigar information service and they have said the leg ring (purple ring with SA 18074) is from South Australia, but did not know who we could contact in South Australia to see if we could track down the breeder, who may know who the budgie belongs to. (it is a long shot, but we try our hardest to get lost animals home). Any information you could give us on who to contact in South Australia who does banding would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like any further information on Pet Search, please don't hesitate to contact me at anytime on 1300 309 004 or check out our missing animals at http://www.petsearch.com.au

look forward to hearing from you.

kind regards,

Lee
