October 19, 200519 yr Oh good Shell! I wouldn't take my kids to a doctor, no matter how good their qualifications, if I didn't trust them, same with my vet! Your very lucky to have a good avian vet
October 19, 200519 yr you have hit the nail right on the head their lin dont trust him not worth seening shell
October 19, 200519 yr Are you sure he is a regitred avain vet as vets have been known to say that they are one . Is he on here www.vetafarm.com.au and click on avain vets on the side bar . cheers
October 19, 200519 yr Shouldn't you have known that before taking all your birds to him? And did he say he was an avian vet or did his degrees just sound like it? A lot of people think "small animal" vets deal with well, very small animals. But that is just the name for a dog/cat veterinarian. It's great if he's an avian vet though, that will save you a looot of trouble! Edited October 19, 200519 yr by eterri

It's great if he's an avian vet though, that will save you a looot of trouble! it funny you say that eterri when my girl budgie got sick i just rang my local vet and asked if they see birds the lady on the phone laughed at me and of corse we have a lovely bird vet then when i went in the other day and i asked weather they had an avian vet she said to me so you not calling him an bird vet anymore!i said i didnt even know their was an avian vet until i got on to a forum it was funny at the time the degrees he said were like B.c.what ever like one letter then dot ect so i dont know even if they sound like degrees! oh and he wasnt on the list so who knows i dont think he has any reason to lie to me even if he wasnt an avain vet i would still have to go to him because the only other one is in melbourne that 2hours away! thanks shell

November 16, 200519 yr Shell, Want birdy vet's name and number. I had 2 tiels pluck themselves to death and all my local vet could do was tell me when they die to go and buy more birds! Sure, I didn't have them long, but I cry over anyone's loss of life. I can't believe she couldn't fix their problem so she became such an unfeeling cow! I need a new vet now, there's no way I want my birdies looked after by someone who, because she can't fix a problem, takes them off all other medications, and says you need a new one.
