I took some pics of a few baby budgies today. I am really not good with colors and mutations so can you guys help me with these? Its not important, but im just curious. I got my little brother to hold them this time, its a little hard to hold an antsy chick with the camera :(Laughing out loud)

2. ? Golden Faced Spangle ? ((SF) Spangle, Split Parblue 2 (Goldenface))

 

3. Normal Green, Split Blue Mutant 1

 

4. Colbalt recessive pied. (Normal Green, Split Recessive Pied, Split Blue Mutant 1)

 

5. ? Golden Faced Spangle ? ((SF) Spangle, Split Parblue 2 (Goldenface))

 

6. Colour? Recessive Pied

Daz- my thoughts:

 

1. Looks like a normal green to me (could be a greywing like dad)

2. Green Opaline

3. Normal Blue

4. Pied Cobalt (looks dominate but a picture of the front would be better to work that out)

5. Green Opaline

6. Looks like a Clearflight Pied Mauve.

 

The last is my fave, so differant looking.

I came close on 3. I picked Sky Blue.

your getting their you ccan be right with the recessive pied as well.

 

In fact I was wondering if the last was one of those birds that have colour all over them but still with a pied spot. (rainbow has some birds like that)

That was one reason I picked Pied.

 

One of these days we should try to discuss this book you got me on. I love it. Just trying to discipher it is difficult

I am also have to adjust to the Program I am using. You say Sky Blue. The book says Blue Mutant 1. The program says Normal Green, Split Blue Mutant 1

Parblue is a colour between Blue and Green with a yellow face. Parblue 2 is with a Golden Face...................Whats the difference between Yellow Face and Golden Face.

All this mutant 1 and 2 etc is really confusing me!!! :mellow:

(Laughing out loud), they are the correct terms for a white face blue (mutant1) and a type 1 YF (mutant 2) :hap:

 

Blue and YFblue sound so much better

And by saying the colour not just mutant 1 or 2 then it's pretty obvious what your talking about and you don't have to have read up on different mutants to understand.
