Sick Eric

Thanks for your help, I will take Eric to the vets tomorrow as they are closed today. Just a quick question, I have been monitoring him all day today and he's eating millet and some apple, cleaning himself and singing and apart from being a bit fluffed up he has passed NO droppings whatsoever. Does anyone know if budgies can get constipated as any sick budgies I've had in the past have always had lots of loose droppings but this time nothing. Thanks

yes, budgies CAN get constipated, and it needs taking seriously. It could be something like a blockage of the intestine, it could be that his vent is clagged up. Ether way, it dosent sound right to me. Let us know how things go tomorrow!

Good luck

budgies poop about every 15 minutes normally so if he hasnt passed a single poop all day this needs to be treated as an urgent problem. it could also be that he hasnt eaten anything and is only grinding the food in his mouth. but either way the toxins are building up inside him and it is very serious.

make an appointment first thing, hope he will be okay.
