Posted September 6, 200520 yr The first egg has just hatched. It was found this afternoon. Hopefully the second one will be hatching tomorrow. I hope everything goes okay for the chicks. Photos to come...... :beer:

September 6, 200520 yr its only natural that you will worry Daz, my eldest chick is almost 03 weeks but i still worry about opening up the box incase anything has gone wrong

September 7, 200520 yr Author Latest up date. Checked this morning. about 6:30am 2nd egg hatched. 1 chick was in the hollow the other was found in a corner not moving. I move it to the hollow and found it was still alive. The hen quickly hoped back in and I assume back on the the chicks. My wife checked about 9:30am and said that both chicks seem okay and that the 3rd/last egg looked like it was cracking I will have to wait till tonight to see how everythings going. September 7, 200520 yr I'm sure the 2nd bub will be fine, they always seem to wriggle around the box then get sleepy so just sit by themselves for a while, mummy bird usually nudges back to the others.

Budgies as well........ Up date. 2 pm Wife says......Stay at work and both chicks seem to be doing okay.... I'll glad when the weekend comes. I beleive that the first few days are the hardest........Oh and for the chicks as well :hap:

September 7, 200520 yr Author The 2nd one didn't make it. :hap: I think it was the 2nd one, it was the smaller of the two. It's a pitty when they don't get a chance at life..... now I have one chick and one egg.

September 7, 200520 yr Author The other one is hopefully going to make it. The last egg was laid 5 days after the 2nd so I guess it should hatch Friday or Saturday. By then the 1st one should be a little bigger. Hope they don't fight.
