Charcoal

I was just wondering....

I found a packet of finely ground charcoal for birdies in the pet shop which says it aids digestion and stops acidity.

I brought some to try and I sprinkle a very small amount in with the seed, but I just wondered if anyone else uses it or what anyone else thinks.

Of couse I have a cuttlefish and mineral block too which get destroyed regularly

I give my birds a charcoal block when I can find them which is not often! But it's fine to give it to them.

species of parrot, including budgies do not need anything to aid digestion, including grit and charcoal. your birds will be fine and healthy without it.

Charcoal is used with sick birds to help soak up and get rid of toxins.

I won't put anymore in with her seed then - when i first got her I went out and brought lots of stuff, but then I realised that probably half of it I could do without.

Thanks for that.
