Hi, I have a budgie, he's about 3 years old. Ever since this morning, he's been bobbing his head up and down like he's trying to get something out. Earlier this morning he coughed up this whitish yellowish goo, and I got really scared. He did it again this afternoon....what's the matter?? I'd really appreciate any info, thank you.

budgie bob their head like that when they regurgitate. they usually do this to a mirror or another budgie, sometimes they do it to shiny things like light fittings.

if he did this he will bring up whole seeds - no goo. and it is normal.

if they was anything other than seed in it then he has been sick and needs to go to an avian vet for a diagnosis asap. if your budgie has been sick it is possible that he is very ill. you may also notice that he sits fluffed up in the corner of the cage or on the floor, isnt eating as much as normal or has runny/off colour droppings.

if this is the case he will not get better without treatment from a vet.
