September 1, 200519 yr That doesn't look good! Could it be scaly face? Try these sights: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...&articleid=3068 http://www.birds2grow.com/art-scalyface.html I would suggest taking her to the vet.
September 1, 200519 yr poor little luv! she does look a sight right now! yes, i think a vets visit is in order.
September 1, 200519 yr Looks like scaly face, caused by a mite. Yuck-o. You have to get a liquid treatment from the vet, if that's what it indeed is, but it fixes quite easily. Good luck!
September 2, 200519 yr I must say that it looks like scaley face to me as well, Has she got any on her legs and feet. If so then I would definatley say that is what she has. You can buy a suitable liquid at the pet shops to treat this condition, And also treat any other birds you have as its contagious. If you are not sure then take her to a vet. GILL.
September 2, 200519 yr mrethanrubies & gillian are right, it is Scaly Face and easily treated with Scale & Mite Remedy usually available from any pet store or vet. Just make sure you separate her from the others during treatment.
September 2, 200519 yr Urgh! Sorry but it looks pretty gross. Now i know what scaly face looks like.
September 5, 200519 yr I'm not 100% sure it is scally face. I had one of the twins with scally face and it wasn't like that. I'm not saying it isn't but I do agree with birdie and suggest a vet trip.
September 5, 200519 yr It's scaly Face and needs to be treated with Ivermectin (1 drop on back of neck a week for 3 weeks)
September 5, 200519 yr The rest of your flock should also be treated even if there are no signs of it on them. The mites spread rather fast. Dont worry, after treatment all will be back to normal in 3 or 4 weeks. Chris
