Posted September 1, 200519 yr Can anyone tell me what birds to put together to get the following colours: Albino Rainbow Violet Grey Thanks.
September 1, 200519 yr I'm not sure about a rainbow but for an albino i think you'd need either an albino parent or a split-albino parent. Same with violet and grey, you'd need one parent that colour or carrying the gene for that colour.
September 1, 200519 yr Rainbows are very hard to produce, you can't just put two colors to get them. They are a combination of Yellowface type II,Opaline, and Whitewing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OHH I have the Yf2 and the opaline so I should get a whitewing for Marine's son and I just may get an Rainbow
September 6, 200519 yr If you wanna get rainbows, you can breed with, for example: . Male: blue (sky, cobalt, mauve or violet) opaline clearwing x Female: blue dilute opaline yellow face. This is a fast way. But the best way to get very good birds (good tipe, and size), is breeding with good normals splits for clearwing. For example, one male opaline blue split for clearwing x female clearwing or split of clearwing and yellow face.

Bea is right about the Violet and Grey being that colour. They are dominant genes and can not carry them as split. A Violet or grey bird would show them in one way or another. To get them you need a parent of that colour.. Albino is recessive so blue or geen budgies can carry it. A good way is to get a blue male split for albino and mate him with a blue hen. Rainbows: Combination of yellowface type 2, opaline and whitewing..
