Sir Whiskers is very sick again

Poor sir whiskers is sick again. He's just sitting on the bottom of the cage as if he's sleeping. It looks like he's psittacosis is flared up again (I've still got them on the medication, and plan to use it a bit longer then the minimum 45 days.)

Maybe he's just tired?

Oh no, I hope he gets better soon! :D

Are you in a position to take him back to the vet? It could be somehting else wrong... Good luck, it damn well sucks when they become sick just after they've gotten better!

I hope he starts improving again soon!! Perhaps another visit to the vet to get some more tests done would help?

i would if i had the cash to do so :) i wish i was like 40 then i could go to the vet everyday if i had too :)

he has picked up tho, so i'm hoping he has the budgie equivalent of a hangover :D:D:(

What kind of medication did you have for him?

Are you able to seperate hima nd keep him warm and quiet? Even if he's looking a little better, the fact he was on the floor of the cage and fluffed up means he's not feeling too good.

If you have Baytrill for him, it wouldn't hurt to give it to him twice a day for a couple of days to see if that helps.

PM me if you like, my budge has been treated for psittacosis before, it's a right royal pain.

okay, there were 2 medications;

The first was (and this is from the label) flagyl and that was for some form of internal parasite.

The second (for psittacosis) is psittavet which was prescribed as an in water treatment for psittacosis (min 45 days) its called [psittavet]
