Posted August 31, 200519 yr Poor sir whiskers is sick again. He's just sitting on the bottom of the cage as if he's sleeping. It looks like he's psittacosis is flared up again (I've still got them on the medication, and plan to use it a bit longer then the minimum 45 days.) Maybe he's just tired?
August 31, 200519 yr Are you in a position to take him back to the vet? It could be somehting else wrong... Good luck, it damn well sucks when they become sick just after they've gotten better!
September 1, 200519 yr I hope he starts improving again soon!! Perhaps another visit to the vet to get some more tests done would help?

September 1, 200519 yr What kind of medication did you have for him? Are you able to seperate hima nd keep him warm and quiet? Even if he's looking a little better, the fact he was on the floor of the cage and fluffed up means he's not feeling too good. If you have Baytrill for him, it wouldn't hurt to give it to him twice a day for a couple of days to see if that helps. PM me if you like, my budge has been treated for psittacosis before, it's a right royal pain.

The second (for psittacosis) is psittavet which was prescribed as an in water treatment for psittacosis (min 45 days) its called [psittavet] Edited September 1, 200519 yr by The Storm
