I found a recipe for making egg food. (can you tell I'm a susie homemaker?) Anyway, just thought I'd share.

thats brilliant ive added it, thank you

You're very welcome!

How long would it last do you think?

If anyone is interested i made a batch today and amazingly Blinkie dived right into it!! ;) He NEVER tries new things!! It seems it was a hit with all my birds!! :P

Mine are undecided as of yet. *sigh* I make small batches, keep it in the fridge about 3 days to be on the safe side. My husband says next I'll be buying a chicken to help feed the budgies their eggs. I think he's about out of patience with me. :D

I've been searching the net for birdie recipes, and found recipes for mineral bell, however they all use plaster of paris, which is sooo unhealthy. I was just wondering if that is what is used in bought ones?

I sure hope not!!

That look really nice I'm going to make some now (once I find the oils) :D I in fact went out and found some egg bucuit mix for the little ones and they arn't that fussed on it. Typical. But they loved fresh egg so this will be great. Thanks MTR for the link.

Hope all your birds like it becuase mine haven't touched it. :)

I was wondering if you could use another oil instead of the Safflour Oil? maybe just use double the cod liver oil? or use an olive oil instead?

2-3 eggs.

1 cup frozen veggies

Whole bag of minute rice

1 1\2 cups of noodles.

Boil eggs boil for at least 30 min. Boil rice as instructed on the box. Let the noodles boil till soft. Then cut up the eggs, and put them in a bowl with the rice, and noodles. Then add veggies and stir. Serve to birds and freeze remainder.

I'm thinking of trying a scrambled egg/bean/veggie mash (I have frozen veggies like corn and broccoli). I'm just wondering what kind of beans would be good to try. I'm thinking along the lines of dry beans because then I can just soak them as opposed to buying beans in a can. Any suggestions on beans would be helpful.

I love giving my birds something extra good to eat as they love most of what I give them.

Thanks
