Posted August 18, 200520 yr http://photobucket.com/albums/a134/msteen76/ Oh, yay! It's soooo much better than what they're in now. I was able to put it together before my kids woke up from naps. No instructions, but, hey, I'm a toolbelt diva. :yellowhead: I'll post some more pics once I get it "decorated" & install the birdies.
August 18, 200520 yr They love it, so far. Much head bobbing when I put them in. They actually have room to fly in this one. Yay! Except, my kids can stick their fat little fingers in, because this one is lower.
August 18, 200520 yr Uhhh, sure they will. :redalbino: They're eating happily now, having explored every inch of the new cage. (The birds, not my kids. :yellowhead: ) Tomorrow will be the task of sanitizing the old cage, trying to sell it. I'll take more pics of the birds in their new home tonight.
August 19, 200520 yr http://photobucket.com/albums/a134/msteen76/ Added some new pics of the birds in their new home. Yippee!
August 19, 200520 yr It's 16 inches wide, 11 deep, and 23 high at the highest. Not as big as I'd like, of course, but bigger than what they had. I plan to upgrade them again with next year's tax refund. I just HAD to get them out of the round one they were in. Yucky. They really seem to love it...it has horizontal bars on the front & back so they can climb quite easily & there's lots of head bobbing all around.
August 20, 200520 yr Probably. Hey, I could be buying shoes, or alcohol. Although, wine sounds good tonight...
August 20, 200520 yr Of my old one? Well, I think I'll only be selling the stand for it as I busted the base of the cage...it's a long story & one I don't care to repeat. So, if anyone needs a stand for a hanging cage about 23 inches high... My Mom works at an antique mall & she's probably going to sell it there, as some old ladies like to fill a bird cage with floral arrangements & display it. Whatever.
August 22, 200519 yr WTG! No directions too, very impressed here! They look very happy in it, so keep them pics coming Edited August 22, 200519 yr by BUUZBEE
August 22, 200519 yr I was quite impressed with myself. I just stared at all the pieces really hard, then looked at the picture of the cage on e-Bay. (cheating, I know.) I do need to get some new pics up. Maybe tomorrow...taking our geriatric old boxer/pit bull mix to the vet today. Tumors, arthritis, etc. Send good vibes!
August 23, 200519 yr whats the name of the cage?? i think its the one that i want. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh, I don't know. It's offered by someone on e-Bay called Demsond Pet Depot in southern California.
August 23, 200519 yr Hope all goes well with your dog <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, she's old. About 14. Cataracts, arthritis, fatty tumors, etc. Vet says she'll probably need to be put down within the year. It'll be hard, but she's lived a good life with us the last 10 years. When she can't be made comfortable anymore it'll be time. We're trying out a new arthritis med, derramax. We'll see... Thanks for your concern!
August 23, 200519 yr I know from experience that the hardest thing to decide is when the time has come. I don't envy you facing that decision. Hope the new medication works, and gives her some comfort
August 23, 200519 yr Yes, we hope so, too. I'm mostly worried about my kids not knowing why Roxy goes for a trip to the vet & doesn't come back. They're too little to explain it. For now, we're going to pump her full of pain killer & give her lots of bacon!
August 23, 200519 yr Oh, the kids are so hard aren't they? We lost my youngest son's cat about 18 months ago, and he still cries for him. But at least he was old enough to talk to about it, and I suppose it is real life and he needs to know that. But it breaks my heart to see him. As a Mother, I just want to fix the problem for him. Please don't do what my parents did. They had a cat put to sleep when I was about 6, and my Mum told me he was outside, and hadn't come home. I spent a month looking for that cat, and finally my Mum told me. It would have been less traumatic to have known what had happened, although I know why she did it.
August 23, 200519 yr Oh, no! Sorry you had to look for that cat for so long. No, my kids know about heaven, so we'll just say Roxy is in heaven. Of course, being 2 & 3 my kids think heaven is, like, another town or something!
