Posted August 18, 200519 yr For future reference...how would you wash a rope perch? And then how would you get it dry again?
August 18, 200519 yr Author :(Laughing out loud): I'm lazy too but i also like my money so don't want to have to go spend $15 just because Blinks decides it might be funny to poop all over his perchs.
August 18, 200519 yr I think on the instructions that came with mine it did say they were washable? Up to now I've just used avian disinfectant on mine.
August 18, 200519 yr But will they get hurt? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the rope perch will be fine but the washer might break - but whats more important? a clean rope perch or a broken washer
August 18, 200519 yr (Laughing out loud) im only kidding - Â hand wash in non bio powder - rinse well and dry in the sun
August 20, 200519 yr I soak mine in Nappysan for 30 minutes, then in plain water for another 30 mnutes then throw on the line for a day until it dries. It come up beaudiful
August 20, 200519 yr i throw mine in the washing machine in a normal wash.... normally with all the bird stuff like the cage covers and table cloth it sits on and whatever else looks washable !
August 20, 200519 yr I scrub mine in water and bird disinfectant and then put them in the oven (on low heat) to dry them out - worked so far and not caused any fires yet!
August 24, 200519 yr i would be way to scared it would catch on fire... Â i think my way sounds the easyest....(Laughing out loud) no effort at all !!sometimes the plastic bird toys go in too... makes a GREAT banging sound when it is on spin cycle !!! (woops )
August 28, 200519 yr i used budge's suggestion and it came up lovely, and didnt risk breaking the washer either otherwise it would have turned out to be a rather expensive rope perch.
August 29, 200519 yr Author I thankfully haven't had to try any method yet. Blinks is so talented and he just never poos on his rope perch!!
August 29, 200519 yr Author No, he's my little angel and very kindly poops on his play gym more than he poops on me!!
August 29, 200519 yr i wash mine in baby soap by hand then spray avery disinfectant on, rinse it out and leave it 2 soke in fresh hot water a few times then just hang outside to dry. ATD
