Well as you all don't know I went camping and when i went back I came to find an egg one freskly laid egg to be exact I was going to take out the nestbox now but now sunshine needs it but i don't want to make her breed again so can i just take the egg and throw it or is there somethign else youd suggest?

If you can't remove the nest box yet, shake the egg or freeze it and replace it. Rearrange the cage a bit, and do the same to any other eggs if she lays them.

 

Have the babies fledged? (I can't remember, sorry I really do have the worst memory of anyone I know.) If so, take away the nest box and throw out the egg. Rearrange the toys and perches. Do what you can to discourage her from laying again. Maybe you could try covering her a couple of hours earlier every night. Sometimes having a lot of daylight will encourage them to breed.

Sure Ill rearrange the cage actually its about time I buy them COMPLETLY new toys how fun and yes they have fledged its great so ill throw out the eggs then take out the nestbox then fill the hole buy new toys and a new cage soon and i think shell stop bresding thanks eterri the whole family is great

this post did make me laugh, i must admit, but actually it is a very serious point you should consider imotive. i would also second that doing this would be the best thing for all of your budgies.

 

i hope the little babes are okay. please please please keep us posted. we all care a great deal about what happens with them. book that vets appointment TODAY. we dont mean to go on at you all the time, but i have a special needs bird myself and its not easy going through all the vets bills and constant heartache of them being ill and not being able to do anything to help them.
