Worried about the last baby

Featured Replies

Posted

Baby number 5 hatched a week ago, but it seems to be developing very slowly, i know it is getting fed, because scooby openly feeds all her young in front of me, i'm just abit worried it hasn't developed as much as it should have, all the other babies are older and have starting to open their eyes and get feathers.

Is there anything i can do to help this little one?

The littlest baby always seems to develop much much slower. I think it's because the others are puchier and get more food. You shouldn't worry as budgies seem very able to manage chicks of all different ages. :glare:

it is funny watching feeding time, she always tends to feed the littlist ones first and Mitsi have started feeding the older ones now.

well its about to be filled with high protien food, boiled egg & shreded spinage!!! :glare:

Fingers crossed for the little thing.

(Laughing out loud), i'm sure you'll always keep an intensly close eye on all your babies...all of us birdie parents do. :glare:

Well don't be worried I knew i should have kept my mouth shut well you never know everyopne has different breeding conditions

I think mum and dad are going to be served egg & spinage everyday now!!! (Laughing out loud)

(Laughing out loud)...i still say don't stress over it. Scoobery has 4 little babies and she asked a similar question about her smallest. And all over Razzo's youngest babies have been way smaller than the others while they were in the box. Once they fledge everything evens out. Squeak was the first to moult and to get a properly blue cere! :glare:

Plus your minds like to play tricks then the oldest was at that age there was nothing to compare it to, now the youngest is been mesured by your mind to the oldest.

i supose, the two eldest ones watch everyone through the hole, its very cute but spooky!!! and one of them have his colours starting to show (pics very soon)

AWWW I thought it was so cute when the watched the door. Can't wait for the pics.

That's right, my youngest doesn't even have any fluff yet and he's 10 day's old!

It make's you worry, but the parents are doing a good job of feeding him, and as long as you keep a close eye on them, it's all you can do!

This is my youngest, Tiny, at 8 days:

Can you post some pics please . we can have a look at your youngest too. If Mum and dad are feeding him/her it should be okay.. :o

photos will be here soon, the littlest has suddenly grown and opened his eyes although i have had to seperate mum & dad coz she :o is beating him up well bad.

UH OH

thats not good, dad does so much to help take care of the babies!

i know he always runs over to the box the second they start to cry out, where as she'll finish what shes doing first :D she is a good mummy but does look after herself more now.
