I went to check on the birds today and there are now 3 in the cage yipeee one of the babies is out and such a pretty colour - like a violet but lighter. The second one keeps looking out from the nesting box - guess hes wondering whats going on!.

 

my question is when do I seperate the babies from the mum and dad?

ensure you have something for the chicks to hide in if the parents start to attack i normally remove my chicks about ten days after they leave the nest as long as i am happy they are feeding themselves leaving them a little longer wont harm them just keep an eye on the parents if they decide to breed again straight away
