cornflour advice.

Just thinking for all the newbie budgie owners at the moment that it's a good idea to have a box of cornflour starch in the house in case of emergencies.

Cornflour can quickly stem any blood loss caused by injuries etc.and it's best to have some in ready and not be caught without any.

Thanks Julie! If you didn't post this, I wouldn't know. Do you apply the cornflour starch straight to a wound?

I've heard of that for people too. I think you just sprinkle it straight onto the wound. Is that right Julie? Certainly can't harm can it?

Thankfully I've never needed to use it,but that's certainly what I would do.

It is handy- regular flour works well too. I've had to use both, because I have one extremely clumsy and energetic budgie, Peati, who knocks blood feathers out constantly.

There are also other products on the market- syptic powder is for sale in most pet stores, but corn starch is less expensive and has other uses.
