Posted July 25, 200520 yr Just thought Id show you the playgym hubby has made for our birds - clever boy eh!!! We only went to Homebase for an extension lead and come out with all the stuff to make his gym. Its sat on a teatray - which makes cleaning it easier. I will let them out later to see if they enjoy playing on it, will try to get some pictures too.
July 25, 200520 yr It's good to see you keeping your husband busy Sally! I bet he could sell something that wonderful
July 25, 200520 yr He might well do that Lin, we have loads of wood, rope and fruity blockes left over so he might knock some up and put them up for sale. He really enjoyed doing it which helps.
July 26, 200520 yr Well done Sally My boyfriend made a playgym too from some pine wood and it only costs Can$15.00 although he spent about 5 hours making it! But Cha Pou was quite happy with it! She is trying to chew every bit off! :(Laughing out loud): http://tinypic.com/9gas1s.jpg[/img]"]Cha Pou Playgym
July 26, 200520 yr My spouse would never build anything for my birds!! He's very capable when it comes to caprentry/etc. but he's not thrilled with my birds. He's probably laugh if I asked. Whatever. Maybe I'll make one myself. They're pretty expensive to buy pre-made. Hmmm...
July 26, 200520 yr Clever Dickie! your hubby, hes made a gret job of that.Love the ladders. I have this wooden stand, im thinking of converting to a big Gym, its at work at the mo. Where did you get the fruit blocks from? This stand is varnished, so i need to strip it, bit dodgy for birdie nibbles and put something grippy on the 3 platforms, any ideas thats safe? The idea i have is to make four sections of wire pannels with a top, to go round it, so it can be used as a cage as well. The pannels then would be easy taken away. I took one look at this stand which was just about to be thrown away, and thought wow!, i know what i can do with that! thats not going in the bin! Also does anyone know if the paint you can buy thats safe for animals is safe for birds?
July 26, 200520 yr Bea - the basic frame and tea tray cost about ?12 but then I added toys etc so prob a total of ?20 Scully - got the fruity blocks from pets at home and the rope, chain, wood from homebase. I think that anything childproof is also bird proof but I may be wrong
July 26, 200520 yr Ah wow thats really great! I wish my boyfriend would make me something for my birdies! How great! I have a pre made one for my budgie but my tiel deffinately needs something that cool!
