I,ve been off the air lately, (unwell) and I let my birds have freedom of the dining room and hubby hung a lace curtain across the doorway, so they could see out but not fly out, while I was bed bound.

Later I heard a scuffle of birds and sprung off the bed, wondering what they were doing, then I saw my oldest dog Cindy, come out from under the curtain with a mouthful of feathers :) . (Guess who left the doggy door open). Well, she got smacked and chained up,(should have done it to hubby, but he was at work) then I went to inspect all 4 birds, Well Tweetie was okay she knows how to fly high. Buster and Paulie, had a few feathers missing but okay and they all nestled up to my neck and told me all about it.

Poor old Buster, who already has had a hard life, was missing. I can laugh now, but at the time panic set in and I went outsided to Cindy and opened her mouth that wide, I though I would break her jaw, and looked into her mouth, :(Laughing out loud): mind you if she had taken Buster I doubt it would still be in her mouth. Then I was crawling around the floor, under furniture calling out 'Buster' 'Buster', then I heard a feint tweet and called again, and there he was, sitting in the corner of a kitchen cupboard that was accidently left open. Whew!! I could breathe again.

He too had some feathers missing but okay.

Believe it or not, when they are flying free, they still want to fly and land on Cindy's bed, they dont seem to have any fear of her. Sasha the youngest dog, lets them do anything

Cindy (aka Cherie)

Close one. My dog would definitely grab one of my birds if she got the chance.

I felt that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach just reading your post.... You are so lucky! Would Cindy have hurt them, or does she just want to see what they are?

Are you finally feeling better?

Phew! I'm glad they're all safe and well! Close call though. :o

It sounds funny now, I can just imagine that you were about to go back out to that poor dog, open it's jaws. and shove your hand down it's throat to rescue your budgie (Laughing out loud).

I'm glad they were okay, and let us know if your hubby survives what you have planned for him!

I really dont know if she would hurt them, but I dont trust her, especially when she gets that look in her eye and her tongue is drooling. I think she is saying "yummy dinner" Maybe its her idea of 'dinner on the move' or 'fresh is best'

Oh, and yes I am feeling better now, thank you Rainbow.

Cindy

I know that look! It creeps me out when Mickey watches Blinks and licks his lips at the same time! :o

Oh crikey-I can imagine what you were thinking, not knowing what you were going to find.

Glad it all ended okay and pleased to hear you're feeling better.
