The babies are now 3 weeks old this is the first time I have been allowed to look in and touch the babies. My horror to find the little ones had poo all over their feet and legs. Not sure if I should have done this but I took the babies out and cleaned their little legs and feet and then got as much out of the nest as possible and then put the babies back.

 

Mum wouldnt go in for a while but shes back in there now.

 

Did I do the right thing?

Yep, definitely! At this age they seem to poop faster than mum can clean so it's helpful if every few days you take the babies out and empty the box of all the poop. This should stop the poo building up on the babies feet.

thanks for that, they are so cute but looked so unloved with all the poop on their legs.

I'll add that to my daily housework jobs - womans work is never done!!
