June 30, 200519 yr You're in the U.S. so I can confidently say that newspaper is definitely the best to use. Just use the black and white sections and not the colorful ones. It's way better than sandpaper. They don't use anything harmful in the inks because they're trying to avoid lawsuits in case children/babies ingest it.
July 14, 200519 yr Hmm well no one is probablly reading this anymore...but I use corn cob bedding....and I noticed that no one else uses that. Is this bad? Because it seems to work well for me....easy to use not too messy and easy to clean...
July 14, 200519 yr Corn cob bedding used to be popular but it's become known that it's a breeding ground for bacteria which is why it's no longer used. Very unhealthy for budgies. On top of this, it's very hard to really see their droppings against it.
July 15, 200519 yr I said other, because i use grit...except its not the paper kind...just the loose stuff
July 15, 200519 yr Author Yes, budgies prefer high places where they can see what's happening around them. The cage floor usually is surrounded by plastic which blocks their vision.
June 10, 201015 yr Im at a bit of a loss as to what to use on Tobis cage at the moment Ive some spare sandpaper sheets that fit but she is ripping them up and am scared she is eating it, so I put in newspaper she also ripped that up and Im scared of what the ink might do, sooooooo I used paper towel she decided to pull it all up and sit underneath it hehe. My female budgie does this also with her newspaper im gonna see what she does with paper towels. There so funny whenthey get under the paper and all you can see is the paper moving then a head pops out :]
June 14, 201015 yr Couldnt vote sorry because I use 2 things - newspaper & a sheet of grit paper. You do not need the grit paper.......remove it. Wouldnt worry about voting.,another OLD OLD topic dragged up. Its FIVE YEARS OLD Edited June 14, 201015 yr by KAZ
