Posted June 13, 200520 yr I've been on the lookout for a new cage today as I'm planning to get a second bird. There's this really big cage with a free stand for about ?56 on offer so I'm pretty interested in getting it. I was wondering though, the bars are further apart on this cage than on my current budgie cage so how wide is too wide when bars are concerned?
June 13, 200520 yr It's possible that you've seen a cockatiel cage which wouldn't be suitable for a budgie. Julie
June 13, 200520 yr Yes it might have been a cockatiel cage, there were a few others in the shop that I had my eye on so I'll have a better look next time I go in thanks!
June 13, 200520 yr Actually why would wider bars be a bad thing? Would they get their legs stuck or something?
June 13, 200520 yr And when it's a new bird in a new cage they do try to push their heads through to get out. Julie
June 13, 200520 yr i think i answered this question in another thread? budgies have died because they got their heads wedged between the bars, panicked and strangled themselves. make sure you dont but a cockatiel cage.
