Sudden Decline And Death.

Hi everyone,

Really need some help with why my partner and I's budgie had a sudden health decline and passed away this morning.

Past week our female 2yr old lost weight (very light to pick up) but was eating fine (mix of seed,vitamin pellets and fresh) and her feathers were nearly always ruffled. She does share a cage with a male of the same age (bought together and always shared a cage) and noticed he alternated between affection and trying to stand on her during the same week, putting them in seperate cages didn't change her condition.Physically there is no marks and a vet visit is simply not an option as there is only one within a 2hr drive and they want $140 consult and $350 necropsy.

Could it simply be stress or something? Our male budgie is showing no signs of poor health.
