I have a pair with 4 eggs. the first was due to hatch 3 days ago. I have checked the nest box and found that there is a small hole on the end of the egg. it is lthe size of a large ike a pin ****. I thought the chick was hatching but that was 3 days ago. i have checked the box again yesterday and noticed the same on another egg that was due to hatch but again no chick!!

Any ideas? Many Thanks

Maybe they tried to get out of the egg but got tired. They would probably be dead by now though....there might be another reason though.

Have you opened the eggs that have holes? Are there dead babies or just yolk? If it is yolk the eggs weren't fertile. Good luck with the other 2 eggs.

I havent opened them yet. just making sure that i gave enough time in case they hatched. i will open later and let you know.
