i have just got home from work and the first of my 5 eggs is showing the very first signs of hatching, there is a small crack and i can feel the baby pecking inside. how long does the hatching process usually take. will i have a baby budgie by the morning?

im getting very exited now! this is the first time i have breed my budgies.

I'm not sure exactly how long it takes, as all mine appeared to hatch at night. I'd wake up and hear little peeping noises. So cute... So if you are seeing signs now, it should not be too long. HOW EXCITING!!! :beer:

I'm not sure either- same as you rainbow- I would wake up and there would be anew baby- so I guess you should hurry up and go to sleep that seems to do the trick to get the babes here faster :budgiedance:

It really depends on the chicks and how strong they are. Some can be out in a few hours, others it can take much longer.
