okay I have a male olive green budgie who is about 18months (got him from a colony breeder as a baby).  Before he's first moult he had quite a purplish tinge near his vent region, and still has a slight purplish tinge.  I am hoping to breed with him and I was wondering if he would be a double factor violet and if I breed him with a visual violet hen, would they produce violets? Thanks for any information anyone can supply!   :)

Wow he is so gorgeous, I'm sure he have a violet factor but I'm not sure if it's DF or SF. But even if he is a SF he will have violet babies, violet is dominant. I recommend you to breed him with a blue violet hen budgie, you would have amazing violet colors from they?

I am glad to see that picture.  I have two violet greens.  One hen is a violet light green and one male is a violet dark green.  Now from looking at your bird as my violets produce, I can see what a violet olive will look like.  I have a spangle olive paired to a violet cobalt.  I very well could get a violet olive in their clutches.
