I found a nice piece of tinsel (like what you decorate Xmas trees with) yesterday and was wondering if i could let Blinkie play with it??? I remember Tweety used to love playing in the tinsel on the Xmas tree so thought Blinkie might be able to have some fun with it. What do you think?? :(

i don't know. but i wouldn't risk it.

Blinkie might swallow some and become ill.

aww that wont be good, i have so much tinsel around at christmas, does this mean we cant have it this year :(

I wouldn't have thought it would be bad.....not if you were watching carefully....but i'm not going to intentionally give it to him to play with. Budgeover, i think you're right! It's just not worth the risk! :D Andy, I wouldn't worry at Christmas unless your budgies are addicted to shredding it or something. :(

:(Laughing out loud): It would be like budgie heaven for them!

*When swallowed, tinsel can cause digestive upsets and intestinal blockage, it may be best to avoid it altogether).

i know what you mean andy :P i gave casper a large silver bauble last year with a piece of string attatched and he loved pulling it around. he could probably see his reflection in it.

i think i would only give tinsel if i pulled it quite hard and none of the little stirngs came out in my hand...and even then only under extreme close supervision.

as chirpy said though, if in doubt - dont risk it :(

(Laughing out loud) we usually go mad with tinsel, evetything covered in it and hardly being able to see the cieling for baloons and those dangly things :P , okay, we might go slightly over the top (Laughing out loud), oh are fairy lights okay we have them all over too hehe

us too andy! we do tend to get a bit carried away with the decorations! i think fairy lights are okay just makes ure the birds dont start biting the wires - i tell casper when he starts to chew the cable that hangs the ceiling light that he will go 'TZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!' if he bites it! :fear

(Laughing out loud)

Last christmas my neighbour's budgies had made a nest in their christmas tree, so they had to turn off all the lights and take off all the decorations before theyfinaly caught the two budgies. :(Laughing out loud):
