Need Help To Identify Mutation

Results from breeding an Opaline TCB Dark Green Cock and Opaline Grey Green Hen as follows. (Do not know if these birds are split or are hiding other varieties. I think the cock is split to blue).

Results from first clutch, opaline sky blue cock, opaline light grey cock, opaline dark green cock, opaline TCB grey green hen, opaline TCB grey green hen.

I need clarification regarding the two hens, see following pictures. Are they opaline TCB grey green hens? I am a bit confused with the wing markings of chick 2 (second picture). Is it also a spangle or something else? Do TCB's have clear tails? Or are the wing markings a result of opaline?

Thank you in advance for advice.

The second chick looks like it might also be pied, the lower half of the wings look pied out. Texas clear body have blue tails , not sure if the tail would be black in grey series birds but yes the tail does change with opaline just like any other opaline bird, the tail will have like a clear section along the quill/shaft section. Other than that some more photo's may be helpful.

Thanks rachelm,

This is a picture of the same chick when younger. It shows the tail.

I'm thinking dominant pied, clear tail and clear flights, flights in texas clear body should be grizzled grey. Are photo's of the parents in your other post Nick? I will have to check.

okay I found the photo of the parents. Looks like dad is the dominant pied one. Explains your pied chick.

Thank you rachelm, thats great news. I was hoping he was a dominant pied. I thought he was a dominant pied when I bought him from the pet shop 2 years ago. However i was unsure after researching on this website and others. He looked like other TCBS, in particular with the yellow color washing through the body color. Is it possible he is also TCB?

Thats great, I can now start a dom pied line with him and daugters. Dom pieds are one of my favorite varieties.

If i breed his daughters (when 1 year olds) to other normals, is there a possibility of getting more dom pieds?

Thanks for response, much appreciated.

Dad is TCB opaline dom pied. So all HEN chicks will be TCB opaline because TCB and opaline are sex linked genes. If you pair Dad to a normal hen, all COCK chicks will be split TCB and Opaline . Dom pied is a dominant gene and half of all chicks will be dominant pied.

Dom pied x Normal= 50% Dom Pied, 50% Normal.
