Posted October 28, 201311 yr I have only 2 budgies at the moment. A male and a female, each about one year old. Right now I am not a breeder however I am interested in learning as much as possible. I once bred Zebra Finch, and was quite successful at that. Birds are such beautiful gifts from nature. I was wondering if I am successful in breeding my two budgies what colors might I expect?
October 28, 201311 yr Hi Cheri, welcome to the forum. If you visit the FAQs section, there are a lot of articles where you can learn a lot about budgies, and about breeding, if you ever decide to get around to that. Your budgies are very pretty, but since your avatar photo is small, it's kind of hard to tell their exact mutations. Are they both opalines? (If you're not sure what an opaline is, you can learn about that in the Colors and Mutations section.) If your green one is not split to yellowface or blue, then you will get all green chicks. It looks like the blue one is pied, either recessive pied or a combination pied judging from the lack of blue on her front. If you can show us a photo of her back, that might help, too. Glad to have you on here!

October 28, 201311 yr Hi, welcome to the forum. I know nothing about the mutations. Your two birds look like a couple of mine. except my white and blue is a boy and the green I have is a girl.
