One Budgie Cage

Featured Replies

Seems fine to me. Many people switch out the bars for ones that are placed in the other direction. This gives the bird a larger flight space between the bars. I did this in my flight cages. My local hardware stores will cut and groove the perches for me when the birds have chewed them too much. The cage in the picture says 30 by 18 by 18.

I agree place perch's so bird has to fly from one perch to the other (for exercise) not just shuffle along perch. Otherwise it looks great.

I agree, they are great cages of budgies but as everyone else said you need to change the direction of the perches :)

Thank you very much. I have read again these posts and now I am not sure I understand what do you mean by changing the direction of perche ? should I buy a new perche for this ?

thank you

In the photo the perches are long and running side to side but for budgies it is better for them if they run front to back, even though the perches are shorter it gives them more room to fly between them.

sorry for all these questions :)

is it okay to change the cage for budgie. For example I will borrow a cage to transport him to home where he can stay for 3-4 days and then when a bigger cage comes I will change it

thank you

I'd still go with the first cage, cages with pointy rooves are a waste of space for budgies. The more horizontal flying room the better to keep your budgie healthy and happy. It should be fine to change the cage if you have to. If you can cover the cage when you transport it to reduce the stress of the move. :)
