Posted July 13, 201311 yr 3 pairs wanting to know colours/mutation as i could be wrong in what i have said below and what would i expect the chicks color/mutation be pair 1 i think its violet DF dominant pied as it is purplish or could be mauve with normal green Pair 2 i think they are both Light green DF dominant pieds Pair 3 i think its light green opaline spangle with blue/grey opaline spangle Thanks Edited July 13, 201311 yr by bah2002us
July 14, 201311 yr Can't help with mutations etc although I think I would have swapped pairs 1 and 3 to keep your colour clearer. I find with green to blue, I end up a muddy colour range in chicks. Just my opinion/ observation with my own pet types. (Not every chick but some).
July 14, 201311 yr yeah i would do what robyn has said next time round. As for colours pair 1, could be green normals and Opalines. thats only a guess. pair 2 who knows whats hidden there. pair 3 same as number 2. could be something hidden.
July 15, 201311 yr Your pieds to me look recessive not dominant. Do they have iris rings? Pair 3 are both opaline and the hen to me looks cinnamon.
July 15, 201311 yr Author the female has white iris on both eyes the male has white iris on one side only the white budgie is the same. has white iris on one side hi robyn is this what you meant as muddy colour or do you think i should be pairing my blue budgie in pair 3 with this one this is just another picture of the light green in pair 3 @nadene i found this page http://cutelittlebirdiesaviary.weebly.com/budgie-mutation-and-color-guide.html if you scroll down to dominant pied its the same as in the picture Edited July 15, 201311 yr by bah2002us
July 17, 201311 yr pair 1 i think its violet DF dominant pied as it is purplish or could be mauve with normal green MAUVE dom pied to green normal....................green is dominant .............expect green normals and green pieds ............unless the green is split blue The green has scalyface so I wouldnt be breeding him at all till hes well and sorted out Pair 2 i think they are both Light green DF dominant pieds They are dark green not light green .........DF to Df dom pieds if they are df will give you df dom pieds Pair 3 i think its light green opaline spangle with blue/grey opaline spangle opaline spangles in green unless the green is split blue ......you have a 25% chance of a double factor spangle BUT the male looks sick so I would breed him at all if I was you As for colours pair 1, could be green normals and Opalines. where do you get that from ? July 17, 201311 yr Just going off what my dominate pied green and grey Opaline achieved. I wasn't saying I was a 100% sure.
July 17, 201311 yr Author the blue isnt sick i just managed to take a picture while he was cleaning himself. he looks much better than that he is in a good condition yeh im treating the green one for scaley face at the moment

Some are quite pretty but you just don't know what they will be like. The hen in above picture I don't know her mutation I see spangle, cinnamon, y.face? maybe a dilute of some sort could be blue in her parents? Do you know what they were?
