Posted July 11, 201311 yr We have all seen them bird hammocks on ebay with their users selling them. How we know they are a hazzard waiting to happen. I got sick of them coming up in my search results and can see some ditsy person buying one of these thinking its cute only to come home and find a incident has occurred and her budgie is dead. So what we should do, report as traps. Send user a letter about the item. these are not for birds these are a dangerous hazard to birds. Feet get stuck. Bird chews leg off. Birds neck gets suck. Bird dies. Bird starts nesting in this, bird might be too young and gets egg bound. Birds do not need a mate to lay eggs. they will lay infertile eggs. sometimes if these birds are young they will become egg bound. Very dangerous item and I believe the RSPCA has a law about these items. I strongly discourge you from advertising this as any type of bird hammock.
July 12, 201311 yr I didn't even know about them, and I can just imagine that a leg gets stuck and in the frustration they chew off their leg. Horrible.
July 12, 201311 yr Budgie Hammocks! I am going to have to look this up now to see what they are about! Surely not! Are they meant to be some sort of nest?! From what I quickly saw on the internet, the hammock idea is not catching on anyway. Anyone with enough sense will see they are dangerrrrousss to any budgie. Sorry for the strong words but seriously!
July 13, 201311 yr Author yeah but we never know. it just annoys me seeing these for sale. when clearly they just wanna make money off someones stupidity.
