Mutations Of Budgies?

Featured Replies

What mutations are my budgies ?

What babies can I expect assuming the parents aren't split for anything or have any recessive genes unless seen?

I just bought Snowflake yesterday - he was standing at the cage door waiting for me until it was time to go - he knew something!

They have both black pupils with white iris rings.

snow flake is a Opaline spangle.

I think Violet is a Double factor spangle with yellow suffusion.

Maybe someone might know more.

Here is a good photo of Snowflake without the flash. It shows head spot and cheek colour well. Do you see most of the wing feathers look full.

The next photo is with the flash to show spots on face do not look spangle.

I would love someone else in the expert arena to answer me only on looks and give me reasons why. I don't have any heritage on them so I am only after a rough guess.

Her face spots are ever so light grey now. They look full colour too. What type yellow face is she?

And Snowflake - dominant pied?

Well as you said a rough quess, here's mine snowflake may be a sky blue opaline greywing? Violet maybe a dilute of some kind as she's very lightly marked and coloured. We need the experts to post. :P
