Posted July 4, 201311 yr Would someone or two or three.....answer these questions please. It would be mighty helpful and much appreciated. 1. For clearwing to be true clearwings they shouldn’t have any markings or blemishes on them right? 2. A clearwing with spangle is a spangle clearwing and a clearwing with opaline is an opaline clearwing, right? 3. Do true clearwings in Australia have to have a white tail shaft? I have always thought so! Am I correct? Does anyone have a photo of an opaline clearwing without spangle they can post here please, please, please... Thank you heaps for reading my post and replying if you do so. Edited July 4, 201311 yr by amum4children
July 4, 201311 yr I'm not up with mutations etc. If you go to F.A.Q. under BUDGIE MUTATIONS it gives you all the details of each mutations. Hope this helps until someone "in the know" can advise.
July 5, 201311 yr Author Thanks for your reply robyn. I will look further under 'mutations' for the answers to my questions. Can I post on an old topic? I can't find a photo anywhere on the internet including BBC of a opaline clearwing without spangle. I would like to buy one to go with my Rainbow budgie, but due to some characteristics changing other characteristics(genetics) , I understand that an opaline clearwing may not necessarily have all the opaline characteristics and all the clearwing characteristics when placed together. I am after what changes to look out for.
July 5, 201311 yr Author Also, 4. Can clearwing primary tail feathers ever be white? 5. What mutations have white primary tail feathers ? 6. Are pieds with all white wings clearwings? Thanks in advance for answering my questions.
July 6, 201311 yr Author Alright, I've answered number 4 myself - Yes, the Australian clearwing blue series budgie is meant to have all white tail which is a surprise to me so please tell me if I am wrong or right! The green series clearwing budgie is meant to have a yellow tail right?!

I have been reading about clear wings and the description says: A clear wing has very light wing markings and a bright body colour. Don't know if this helps.
