I was wondering if anyone could let me know if my budgie has scaly face? I'm new to budgie keeping so I'm not sure. Her cere is starting to flake and looks quite dry especially where it meets the beak. She is still young so I don't know whether the dry cere might be from upcoming moulting or a change in the weather (it has just gotten quite cold where we live) or if it is scaly face. I'm not sure how to add a picture but you can see her cere in my profile picture. I don't know if that helps?!

Looks like the beginnings of scalyface....mostly we use spot on ivermectin but since heres sint severe os advanced you can rub a little oil on that and you should be fine

Looks like a normal hen cere in breeding condition to me... But I could be wrong.

when i bought her, her cere was like this

she may have been breeding with another budgie in the avairy at the pet srore

but there where no breeding boxes so im a little confused

No thats not scale face.

 

 

 

This is one of my birds that had scaly face see how around the cere there is a white sorta crust. it starts from the cere but doesn't cover the cere only in bad cases I think.

Elle, it doesn't look like scaly face, it looks like her cere is peeling because she is coming out of condition.
