I'm new here after searching for information on what we can do as humans to help our feathered friends with the arrival of their first hatchling.

I've read what to expect and what we can do to help.

I have found this forum very helpful for a first timer .

Hi and welcome to the forum. It is a great place to find information and if you can't find what you're looking for just ask :D

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

Four of the six have hatched so far and all are doing well and the little ones are very vocal...lol.

Mom and Dad are very attentive and it is really interesting to view.

The male seems to always want to draw our attention to their needs for either more fresh lettuce or to view the babies. Our birds have plenty of room and fly in and out of their "bird room", which is part of our recreation room .

I have noticed the young ones crops are a little darker in colour as opposed to yellow as in the pictures, probably due to the amount of fresh organic lettuce Dad bird seems to want.We also suppy millet spray and complete nutrition bird seed (Hartz brand) along with fresh water twice daily.

Anything else we can do for them .

I'll keep searching the site for tips.

One last question ...is it too soon to handle the litlte ones as there are two more eggs, which I assume were the later eggs which I would like to inspect as well as to help clean the nesting box.

Thank you in advanced for you input.

Looks like you are going well, As for the question I believe **KAZ** said the sooner the better, depends really on how tame you want the babies. I handled for about 1 minute over the day from about 2 days old, thats to make sure its okay, but dont stress the parents.
