April 29, 201312 yr They have already breed just wondering. would the Opaline be all hens? Normals be all Cocks? Visually, yes. Although your non opaline males may also be dominant pied etc. Edited April 29, 201312 yr by Drogo
April 29, 201312 yr Author okay will have to wait too see how this goes. I am hoping I have a normal male, Opaline Male. My step son wants the Opaline, I want the Normal to breed with another normal.
May 2, 201312 yr I am hoping I have a normal male, Opaline Male. Not sure what you mean by this? From this pair, the only opalines will be females.
May 3, 201312 yr Author I was hoping the Opaline would be male as my step son wanted this budgie to take to his dad's house, but he doesn't seem to mind now. So the Normals would be Male?
May 3, 201312 yr Yes, an opaline cock can only give opaline daughters. A non opaline mother can only have non opaline sons. (But the sons will all be split to opaline, from their father.) That is how all sex-linked genes work, so you could substitute cinnamon, or ino, or whatever into that sentence for the opaline. )
