Posted April 22, 201312 yr Hello! My name is Leanne. I've grown up with budgies all my life and after my last feathered friend, Sunshine, passed away I didn't want another one. But... I'm happy to say this has been cured by a little blue budgie! I've been told its a male, but I'm not convinced. I've only had him a few days so I'm still figuring out his behaviours. His cere is pinky purply, with some white around the nostrils ( which ive read is female). Any ideas would be great!!! He is already sitting on my finger and has come out of his cage on my finger today. I've been so impressed by the quality of info on this forum and how supportive members are of others. Leanne :-)
April 22, 201312 yr Hi and welcome to the forum, Leanne If you can post a picture we can determine the sex of your little budgie. It sounds like you're doing really good with taming, too! Edited April 22, 201312 yr by Birdlove

April 24, 201312 yr Welcome Leanne, glad to see you have new bud. It's sad losing one but that's life, it's good you have taken on a new one. Post pics so someone can tell you what sex it is.
April 25, 201312 yr hey welcome to the forum. I had my first budgie when I was grade 2 and accidentally stepped on him cried for days. 1 half years ago I got 2 budgies for pets now I have more than 2 amazing how addictive these pets can get. Edited April 25, 201312 yr by L__J
April 25, 201312 yr please post a pik so we can help you sex your budgie. the info out there on the net about nostrils is the most misleading info ever when it comes to sexing budgies. if its a baby female the cere will be an overall white not just nostrils....and if a male the cere will be a pinky purple
