Thanks Nadene and Birdlove, they are feathering up nicely.

Nadene, Mum 4 is a problem the chicks aren't fed fully, I ended up taking the rest of her eggs, (5) put them under a hen who had 8 chicks, she's been laying eggs that are getting kicked all around the nest box,( took last of her chicks out into kindy now) don't think there is much hope of them hatching out so, last eggs of problem Mum's may hatch under her, they are due roughly same time as foster nest eggs.. Leaving problem Mum with 3 to rear. If this makes sense. l.o.l

That's a shame, she started off with the first 3 chicks okay. I hope the rest hatch under the other hen. Hopefully when the 3 chicks are old enough dad might help. Just a thought do you think he is feeding her enough?

Hi,thanks Nadene, just checked after shopping and the 3 chicks crops look pretty full, maybe now she's not sitting on eggs as well they might cope better with just the 3. Here's hoping anyway

Well thought I'd finalise this round of chicks.

Cage 4.

Mum & Dad finally got their act together l.o.l. This is the result.

Mum or Dad must be split blue? I'd say as no 1 chick is a real surprise, it's a tealy blue between wings, patches of sky and cream on chest. Out of green normal Dad green & Gold Mum!!
