I would like to know what seed mix do breeders on this forum feed their budgies? I know all about the fresh greens etc but am in doubt which seed mix is best when they are breeding. I heard about feeding a mix of canary and budgie seeds, or canary seed mix and millet - what millet should I use?

Feed these three in seperate dishes & that is a good balanced seed mix for breeding budgerigars > Avigrain Premium Budgerigar ,hulled oates, grey striped sunflower seed.

Hi Gaby I mix my own seeds as I have other types of birds as well.

I use plain canary seed about 50% with white french millet 20% , Japanese millet 10%,

yellow or red panicum millet or a mix of both 10% , hulled oats 5% , canola 5%

But the premium mix that PJI mentioned is quite good.
