my budgie sleeps on the bottom of his cage but he is healthy

Baby budgies will sleep on the bottom of the cage. How old is your budgie? What does his poop look like?

i agree with rachelm. baby budgies when young do tend to sleep on the ground until they learn to perch proberly

I found my budgie sleeping upside down last night!! He was hanging onto the side of his cage face down... Strangest thing I've seen! Through I'd share!

I found one of the young birds sleeping in a little food dish in the morning.

My budgies like to perch on the highest part of the cage at night. The babies usually fight for the swing. I have to leave on a night light or I find them clinging to the top part of the cage. I don't like to see this because it does not look comfortable. With a night light they settle in nicely on one of the top perches.

I have one that I find hanging upside down from her perch like a bat on occasion. The first time really frightened me, but now I just laugh it off. She is healthy and fun, but strange when it comes to her sleep behavior!

trying to reconcile myself to the nightlight idea (total darkness seems more healthy and natural.) But when a fledgling falls off and you wake to the whole aviary flying madly around..............and then you have to graduate light/dark until they find their perfect sleeping perch................a simple nightlight seems, well...simple good sense.
