Hi, if you look closely at the chicks eyes (before they are open) they can appear as red, plum or black e'g through the lids, this can give you a clue that you may have an Albino etc.

Hello, update time!!

The first babies eyes opened this arv and they are so cute! and they aren't red. However I strongly believe that the 2nd chick has red eyes.

Well I am hoping the 3rd egg hatches tomorrow.

From Budgie_Mad

Hi Budgiemad with your male being an ino bird and your hen being a black eyed bird all of your dark eyed babies will be boys and your red eyed babies will be girls. This is because dad is cremino which is a sex linked mutation and his daughters can't carry his mutation in split form so they must display it visually.

It's great to be able to sex them as soon as they hatch.

Cheers Jenny

Thanks everyone for helping me, I go on here everyday almost just to read what others say. I hope one day I can be an administrator on BBC.

:D Send a PM to Kaz. If you know much about computers and such, they might need more staff! By the way, in Photobucket, click on the button for "direct link", it should say "copied" when you do that. Then on here in your post, click on the icon for inserting an image. (That's the tiny square with a picture of a tree that you need a huge magnifying lens to tell that it's a tree.) Then right click in the window to paste the direct link, hit the okay (or is it "Add photo"?), and your picture should appear in your post.

okay, the mother hasn't fed the two chicks since yesterday morning, im worried, she's in there but she wont feed them there chirping for food but she just sits there. HELP!!!!!!!!!

she probably has fed them in the last 24hrs but they do start to get more demanding and often I find my chicks with emty crops then I go back later and they have been fed. Is the male feeding her properly? It might be a good idea to put some millet or a handfull of seed in the box to help her so she is getting enough food for her and the chicks. Don't panic she has been doing a good job so far :)

she has finally fed them I was thinking of putting a millet spray in there but wasn't sure it was okay, and I think he has been feeding her but she eats the seed an carrot I put outside her box.

Yay :) Sounds like mum's gone back to doing her job, maybe she was just having a bad day. Keep the photos coming of their growth :)

LOL, I just couldn't dare leave them home and come back and find out they died.

I love your budgie in your signature Nadene. Its adorable!

That's great, have a great holiday. Just be sure your little family are in a safe spot while camping. e.g. not in a hot car. :)
