I finally three budgies I have been wating for a long time :)

albino male and his mate, normal green female.

and single light green spangle female :)

my first spangle!

The pair is in breeding mode and already cuddling and kissing each other.

I am gonna try to pair the spangle with my opaline male :)

Thank you :)

I got two more budgies today!

cobalt female and blue yf2 (I think) female.

  • Author

I really love cobalts, the color is so vibrant!

I cant promise any photos soon.

My spangle hen puzzles me..

I have Wood pellet bedding in the cage and

she puts it in her water dish, its 4cm high

and she stuffs the dish with it! I have to change it

many times per day, she is so funny, dont know why she does it :)

the albino male and his mate, green opaline female.

He have blue tinge in his feathers, does that mean he is split blue or just normal?

Some beautiful birds you have had along the way. Your new birds look amazing especially the spangle opaline. Has such beautiful markings and colouring.

Thanks

Thank you :)

the spangle opaline female and the light green opaline male, Timon, fell in love and

have already checked out the nest box.

She is in and out every few minits!

And the green and albino male are in the same thoughts.

She checkes out the box regulary.

Beautiful birds Vargur, maybe your spangle had visions of using her water dish as a nest. Did you have a nest box in cage as well?

Can't help with mutation of Timon other than lt. green opaline? He's lovely though. Good luck with your breeding.

  • Author

Thank you Robyn.

I was just thinking if he is also Goldenface, alongside being Opaline green.

His face is very bright yellow, more yellower than I have seen before in a bird.

SFY is more light yellow, I think.. and DFY is brigter having the yellow color also down the wings,

but his wings dont have yellow in them.

Maybe the Spangle female was just looking for something to do.

She is now in cage with Timon with a nestbox, but still puts the bedding in the water dish.

So I had to remove it and put another type of water supplier in there.

The opaline green female and the albino male are incubating eggs.

I will have chicks after about a week :)

The dark green female and yellow male are nesting, one egg.

Tomorrow I am gonna pick up Six more budgies :)

Well your Albino and his mate didn't take long did they. l.o.l. Great that you will have chicks soon. After you add your new birds how many will you have then?

  • Author

17 birds.

:)

the spangle hen have 3 eggs, think she begun incubating.

the opaline green hen have I think 7 eggs, at least one is dud.

Dont know what the second green hen have many eggs. I think she is also Incubating.

here are photos of the new budgies :)

I didnt know their coloring when I bought them, and it was a nice surpize to see that four of six are spangles

and have english in their genes

The green spangle hen eggs are all duds.

Is it okay to let her sit on them for a while or should I remove them now?

or one by one?

The opaline hen and albino male chicks should hatch any time now.

Exciting :)

I put "King" with my sky blue spangle hen, "Queen"

He is so big and handsome and so in love with her

They allways gived the previous owner big and beautiful offsprings.

How long has she been sitting in the eggs because it takes 5-8 days to show fertility from the start of incubation not from when they are laid? If it has been longer then that I would say they are no good and throw them out and let the pair try again :)

  • Author

its been a week since she laid egg nr two.

I checked the eggs yesterday and they were all clear.

Maybe I should wait until next weekend to remove them.

I checked the green opaline eggs and they had veins in them,

and were dark inside.
