February 22, 201312 yr What a gorgeous opaline light green, with a nice clear mantle! And yes, your older male is a dominant pied light green.
February 22, 201312 yr Author Thank you Finnie I was thinking the same, but wasnt 100% sure. My older male, Kario, can also talk
March 8, 201312 yr Author Hi there! I just got two male budgies, and I want to know what colors they are. I think the green male budgie is a greywing, he has pale green body color and maybe yellowface I? and I think the yellow male is ressecive pide, yellow. (but he has pale green tinge/patches on his body, and purple cere and white cheeks.) and black eyes. not a photo from me, I can try to take a better picture later. sóli og máni by Elma_Ben, on Flickr
March 8, 201312 yr Author I was looking at my yellow budgie and he does have an Iris ring! So he is not DEC or ressecive pied. is he then heavy pied dominant pied?
March 9, 201312 yr Hi he looks like he could be a double factor spangle as the colour on him is subtle. Cheers Jenny
March 9, 201312 yr Author I jenny, his tail is yellow and all his body, except the rump is light green and there is also lightgreen spot back of his neck. his feet are pink, but cere is purple, his cheeks are white. and he have Iris rings. Does that make him DF spangle?
March 11, 201312 yr I'm no expert but I don't think DF spangles should have any colour patches, maybe he is a DF Dom pied?
March 12, 201312 yr Hi a better photo of the bird would be great, in the photo you have the colour on him looks like the suffusion of a double factor spangle. There are pictures on here with some double factor spangles with full dilute coloured fronts, but often they only have some colour like a collar under the neckline. If his cere is still purple, pink it could indicate double factor pied or even fallow if his eyes are red. Cheers Jenny Edited March 12, 201312 yr by hilly
March 12, 201312 yr Just to add if you do take better photos make sure you get one of his back so we can see the wings and rump colour
March 12, 201312 yr Author HI all!! Thank you for the replay! Here are more photos of them the yellow one does have a red glimpse in his eyes and they look red is certain light. like in the first photo. Sólon by Elma_Ben, on Flickr Sólon by Elma_Ben, on Flickr I can only see his Iris rings when he is in certain mood, Sólon by Elma_Ben, on Flickr here you can see them here is my other new boy, think he is grey wing or just diluted Máni by Elma_Ben, on Flickr Forgot this photo of his back Sólon by Elma_Ben, on Flickr
March 13, 201312 yr Hi thanks for the new photos they help quite a lot. How old is he? If he is still young his colour won't be as bright as that of an adult. And also his iris ring won't be fully developed. He looks like he is a dominant pied in cinnamon or dilute or even both, he is also opaline by the look of it. He could be double factor as Nadene said but you won't know until you get some breeding results from him.
March 13, 201312 yr Author Thank you HIlly! The owner said the yellow is over/about 1 year old. The green one is 2 years old. I dont know what to pair him with, but the chicks will be all like him, right? yellow pieds? When I paired my old dominant pied male with white/blue ressecive pied female I only got dominant pieds, like him, yellow and green and almost all yellow.
March 13, 201312 yr Hi it will depend on what he is put with but he should at least throw some green dominant pieds and his hens will all be opaline as well and possibly cinnamon if he is cinnamon. If he is put with a blue and he happens to be split for blue you can get blue pieds and blue in the other colours as well. A lot of these will be combinations of the colours. Your other bird is a light green greywing, though he doesn't seem to have much in the way of an iris ring in that photo anyway. cheers Jenny
March 13, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jenny!! I can see very faint head stripes on the yellows head, amazing you could see he is opaline only from the pictures! Then I am gonna look for blue hen for him and hope he is split blue I have none blue bird, only greens and yellows,
April 27, 201312 yr Author I have been reading alot about mutations, but want your opinion, what will I get from my: green opaline female and albino male? Cobalt female and dominant pied male? Classic green opaline male and olive green spangle female? Skyblue spangle female and olive green spangle male? dark green female and dominand pied male? pied (think recessive) opaline female, and dilute opaline male? and finally DF spangle male and normal green female?
