Posted February 1, 201312 yr Hi, I think that this bird is a male (in the front- the back is obviously a hen), what does everyone think? Edited February 21, 201312 yr by Finnie
February 8, 201312 yr Yeah, definitely a boy. Even if the hen is older, she could still be his sister from a previous round, if you bought them from the same place. What did the seller tell you? Actually to me, they both look like they are around six months old. Old enough to molt off their baby bars and get mature looking ceres, but not old enough to get their iris rings. They are really cute. I, too have a soft spot for the greywings, especially when they have yellowface.
February 8, 201312 yr Author They were in different cages, but I am not entirely sure. The hen though is part English but the male isn't. I love the light baby coloured birds, greywings are one of my favourites, but I hadn't been that lucky in finding them, until these two
February 9, 201312 yr What makes you say the hen is part English? They look identical to me. Maybe it's just that photo.
February 9, 201312 yr Author That's what the seller said and she was in a different cage, so that's what I assumed
February 11, 201312 yr Doesn't look too British to me... Anyway that's not really important, what's important is you have some nice budgies. I'm gonna say its a male but it could be a female with a hormonal issue.
February 13, 201312 yr That's what the seller said and she was in a different cage, so that's what I assumed Hm, well they are both very nice, English or not. Your seller might be a perfectly honest person, so I don't mean her specifically, but I have stood in seller's living rooms and had them directly lie to me, and they seemed honest until I got home and found out differently. So sometimes you never know. If you want to send me the Photobucket link to where you moved that photo to, I can edit it back in for you. (Use PM system.) I'm gonna say its a male but it could be a female with a hormonal issue. Oh Pul-leez!
February 13, 201312 yr Don't you like giving answers without giving an answer. It's great having a foot in each camp... It's a male, but it could be a female.
February 14, 201312 yr Here's a hint... If what I say differs to what others say, go with what they say!
