July 18, 201311 yr you have a fare few, I am hoping that my eggs of my second female (Lilly) will at least hatch one by tomorrow, as I am going away for the weekend and my parents are watching them. They are quite experienced in that area too, as they helped me when I was younger. but I have the 3 babies (still haven't posted pics and the new female). But I should stop hogging your topic, and say this on mine. good job L__J, you seem to be enjoying it.
July 18, 201311 yr Author Yeah looks like they are all settled into there own nestboxes. no fights. This is my last time breeding this way. I will be away for 2 weeks so my family will be keeping a eye on them.

September 8, 201311 yr Author Just going to throw my pairs up I have in the breeding cabinets. Pair One These guys have eggs already Pair Two
September 8, 201311 yr Lovely chicks. good luck with next clutch. Does pair 2 hen have a problem with her eye or is it just the picture? What mutation is she greywing/dilute?
September 9, 201311 yr Author Opaline Dilute I know when I got her 2 years ago she had problems with her eye. but she has always had a funny eye and its never effected her. She has only ever laid infertile eggs but that was colony breeding. I really hope to see some fertile eggs this time round. if Not I guess we were mislead when we got her given to us. September 10, 201311 yr Hi, if your hen has been laying eggs, fertile or not the problem may be the cock bird, she's already done her bit. Good luck with this pairing, do you know if they are a bonded pair or not? some hens will just lay eggs without mating apparently. Hope she's not one of those, if you have seen any mating behaviour between them you may be lucky this time.
September 10, 201311 yr Author This female has had plenty of mating lol. These two are bonded pair. The female has been threw 3 mates, so I doubt its the cock bird. as that one of the cock bird has been successful with another bird.
September 11, 201311 yr Author one of apples chicks died. I checked the nest box and it was next to its other sibling all floppy when I picked it up. Its crop had no food it obviously starved to death.
September 17, 201311 yr Author Well apples has 4 chicks now. she laid 6 eggs all up. one egg was cold, chick 2 died. I am happy to see her with 4 this time. One of Teddies chicks died. She had two. the one that died was a double factor spangle male I am so devastated about this, was looking forward to a double factor spangle male. The other one is going to be a sky blue spangle. June is on 4 eggs. Tilly is on 3 eggs. haven't disturbed my other birds really.
